Summary: "The Reviewer's 2018 edition includes recently enacted laws in Commercial Law, relating to consumer protection: the Graphic Health Warnings Law (R.A. No. 10643), the Philippine Competition Act (R.A. No.10667), the Philippine Credit Card Industry Regulation Law (R.A. No. 10870); the Anti-Mail Order Spouse Act (R.A. No. 10906), and the No Shortchanging Act (R.A. No. 10909). The edition also takes into account the new Transportation laws: the Philippine Cabotage Law (R.A. No. 10668), the Anti-Distracted Driving Act (R.A. No.101913), and the Road Speed Limiter Act (R.A. No.10916); those relating BOT Law, the Right-of-Way Site or Location Law (R.A.No. 10752), an to the public utilities, R.A. No. 10905 which requires all franchise holders or operators of TV stations and producers of TV programs to broadcast or present their programs with closed captions. Included in this edition are Republic Act No. 10846 which further amended the PDIC Charter, Republic Act No.10881, which formally allowed 100% foreign equity in adjustment, lending and financing companies, as well as investment houses, and empowered the SEC to adjust the minimum paid-up capital levels of such companies at it deems warranted by its prudential oversight requirements, and Republic Act No. 10927, which amended Anti-Money Laundering Law, to include casino operators within the list of covered institutions, and amended the provisions relating to the issuance of freeze orders by the Court of Appeals. The edition also covers decision of the Supreme Court as of 31 December 2017. The latest edition reflects the authors' endeavor to make concise the presentation of black letter law and jurisprudence in each of the significant fields in the Philippine Commercial Law; and deleting items that pertain more to Remedial Law (jurisdiction on commercial cases) or Administrative Laws ( powers of administrative agencies over a commercial sector), when such discussion are not essential in preparing for the Bar Examinations."--Preface to the 2018 edition
