 1.0         OBJECTIVES 

The library DDS has the following objectives: 

1.1         To provide good and prompt services to offsite researchers; 

1.2         To acquaint, encourage, and provide maximum access to and use of library resources; 

2.0         SCOPE 

       This covers the process of delivering copies of journal articles, electronic resources and book chapters owned by JRU libraries for off-site researchers. These documents are scanned or photocopied and can be sent electronically or by courier. This incurs a small fee dependent on the services required and number of pages.
 

3.0         POLICIES 

3.1         Document Delivery Service is available to all offsite researchers, both student or non- student of JRU. 

3.2         Requests from students from other schools, private and government researchers shall be made through their office’s or school’s head librarian.      

3.3         Requests are usually processed within 24-48 hours of receipt, not including weekends and holidays.  

3.4         Every attempt will be made to fill all orders, but delivery cannot be guaranteed since materials are occasionally in use or missing. 

3.5         Requests are limited to five requests per person per day; requests submitted in excess of five per day will be processed as time allows. Requesters will be notified of delays. 

3.6         All requests are subject to discretion of the librarian based on copyright protection of the materials. 

3.7         Delivery Options:

a.    Electronic. Most requests will be filled by providing an electronic copy. Electronic copies are sent thru email. Some requests may be supplied as photocopies, at the library's discretion.

b.    Photocopy. Photocopies can be delivered via courier (LBC) or FAX. For FAX delivery, FAX machines must be able to receive at all times. 

3.8       Pre-payment are required before processing all requests. Check payment, bank electronic transfer (DBP) or cash payment shall be made at the university Cashier only. Payment details and invoice will be emailed to library@jru.edu to start processing request. 

3.9       Rates. Subject to change depending on the current rates of LBC.

4.0         PROCEDURES

1.  Fill out the request form.  Downloadable forms are available at JRU Website. 

2.  Submit the properly filled up form at library@jru.edu 

3.  Respond to the request received and instruct the researcher the next step and indicate where and how much that the researcher must pay.

 

4.  Pay the full amount at any bank affiliated by JRU and send payment details at library@jru.edu.

 

5.  Validates if payment has been made at Finance Office.

 

6.  Once payment was confirmed, start processing the requested material.

 

7.  If mode of delivery is thru courier, informs LBC that there is a request for courier delivery. If email or fax, sends the electronic copy to the requester.
