Summary: "This volume is about Torts and Quasi-delicts. This is perhaps the field of law which baffles and intrigues me the most. The title itself "Torts and Quasi-delicts" would raise questions as it is often considered that Torts and Quasi-delicts refer to the same thing. As explained in Chapter I of this volume, torts and quasi-delicts are two distinct concepts although certain cases would suggest that they refer to the same thing. I chose to title this volume in this manner to underscore the distinctiveness of these concepts. An entire chapter is devoted to explain the concept of tort and quasi-delict, and how these concepts relate to each other. It is by far the hardest chapter to write. This volume provides for an analysis of jurisprudence. The reader of this volume would readily observe, the critical stance taken in this volume. Often, after discussing the facts and the ruling of the Court, this volume would evaluate the reasoning of the Court, determined whether the statements from part of the ratio decidendi, and project the implications of the Court rulings." -- Preface, Rommel J. Casis
