Summary: "This work on constitutional law runs to two volumes. Volume 1, Political Structure, consists of chapters on: constitutional supremacy, constitutional construction, separation of powers, legislative, executive, and judicial departments, citizenship and alienage, suffrage, economy and natural resources, and amendment. Volume 2, Bill of Rights, consists of chapters on: police power, nature of fundamental rights, due process, equal protection, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, non-impairment of contracts, arrest and search, and rights of the accused. The text of each chapter includes three parts. The first part lays down the basic principles, as inherited by our country during the colonial regime, from early American jurisprudence. The Second part describes how the basic principles have evolved into contemporary doctrines, enunciated by modern American jurisprudence. The third part illustrates how the basic principles have been applied in Philippine jurisprudence. This Volume 2 on Bill of rights covers reports of the decisions of the Supreme Court from August 1901 to April 2014. This work covers reports of the decisions of the Supreme Court from August 1901 to February 2015, including the DAP and PDAF cases. This work is a peculiar blend of text and cases, designed to respond to the need for access to both the fundamental principles and the latest decisions." --Preface
