Summary: "MAPEH Adventures in the 21st Century (2019 edition is a series of Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health Education books for the Basic Education (Grades 1 to 6) learners in the Philippines. This set of instructional materials is based on the philosophy, objectives, and list of learning competencies of the K to 123 Basic Educational Program outlined by the Department of Education (DepEd). This worktext is based on the design of the K to 12 MAPEH curriculum (2016) which focuses on the spiral progression of processes, concepts and skills. In addition,m it is strongly anchored on the combined sound conceptual frameworks of the 21st Education Literacies, Differentiated Instruction and Standard-Based Assessments. This worktext is also grounded in Performance-Based and Active Learning (PBL) Experience. It is divided into four content areas: Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health Education. The first section is all about Music. it includes the elements of music: melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, forms, and styles from all continents and historical periods. The second section discusses Arts, its various forms and elements. The approach towards learning is mainly learned-centered. The hands-on differentiated activities are geared towards developing learners creativity and self-expression. The learners are also given opportunities to create various arts forms using locally available materials. The third section includes a thorough discussion of concepts in Physical Education and a comprehensive presentation of physical fitness activities. The Physical Education Curriculum under the K to 12 Basic Education Program has five learning strands which includes body management, movement skills, games and sports. rhythms and dance, and physical fitness. The last section covers an in-depth discussion of Health Education and related health practices deemed to enlighten children about the importance of appropriate health practices. The DepEd's K to 12 Health Education program focuses on the physical, mental, emotional, social, moral, and spiritual dimensions of holistic health." --Provided by publisher.
