"Learning to Succeed in Business with Accounting Volume 2 is designed as a textbook material in introductory accounting for Senior High School, especially for grade 12 students. This bopok was written utilizing the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) paradigm. OBE is an educational process which is based on trying to achieve certain specified outcomes that encourages the teacher and the student to share responsibility for learning.
Presentation and discussions of various accounting concepts and frameworks are simplified to provide the reader with an initial working knowledge of the different steps of the accounting cycle for a sole proprietorship form of business. Emphasis is given to various financial reports, and at the same time, to the development of the procedural bookkeeping skills. A unit is dedicated to financial statement analysis and interpretation for students to understand the basic frameworks underlying horizontal analysis, vertical analysis. and financial ratios to test the level of liquidity, solvency, profitability, and stability of the business. Basic lessons on income and business taxation are also included for students to learn and understand sound principles of taxation and its purpose.
This textbook was written for readers, especially students who want to have handy guide about the frameworks of basic accounting for sole proprietorship of business. Each unit is prefaced with learning objectives to serve as guide to readers and with discussion questions and problem exercises to enable to students to practice the different frameworks and concepts learned.
