Summary: "Generally, modern calculus is deliberated to have been developed in the 17th century by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Today, calculus has extensive uses in science, engineering, and economics. The development of calculus and its applications to physics and engineering is probably the most significant factor in the development of modern science beyond where it was in the days of Archimedes. And this was responsible for the industrial revolution and everything that has followed from it including almost all the major advances of the last few centuries. Calculus is a part of modern mathematics education. A course in calculus is a gateway to other, more advanced courses in mathematics intended to the study of functions and limits, generally called mathematical analysis. In this course, the students will know how to determine the limit of a function, differentiate, and integrate algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions in one variable, and to formulate and solve problems involving continuity, extreme values, related rates, population models, and areas of plane regions. It aims to inspire learners in striving harder by developing a sense of responsibility and commitment as they go along with the course. The content coverage is in five units under three sections. It features: - Full color book plus DVD - Downloadable workbook included - Over 100 hours interactive E-lectures, Quiz and Videos in DVD - DVD has many useful features for teachers to teach with digital resources in classroom." --Publisher's description
