"This textbook is divided into four units, each comprising of specific lessons. Exercises and activities follow each lessons which aim to gauge or assess students' level of comprehension, retention and skills after the discussion of a lesson. These exercises support the direction of an Outcomes-Based Education (OBE). The exercises require students to recall, retain data and perform tasks with the aim of developing skills that exhibit creative and artistic inclination in the learners.
The first unit focuses on Integrative Art as
applied to Contemporary Art, the second unit discusses the status of Contemporary Arts in the Philippines. The third unit deals with a discussion of the Different Contemporary Art Techniques and Performance Practices. The last unit on Contemporary Arts Production brings together relevant concepts learned in the previous discussions to come up with a plan for making good art productions. Emphasis is given on tips and steps that would make this goal possible. Also added here are discussions of productions for which various regions are known or noted for.
