Summary: The book covers the application of demand and supply analysis, a subset of microeconomics. The second half of the book is devoted to business methodologies and perspectives in identifying commercial ventures for Filipino entrepreneurs. The textbook has three distinguishing features although still faithful to the intent and contents of the curriculum as designed by the Department of Education. First in every chapter the textbook uses a framework in the analysis of any topic whether it is a socioeconomic problem, price determination, business identification or impact assessment. Second, it is more applied and less theoretical. It uses economic principles as tools in understanding socioeconomic and business problems and issues. Third, there is a stress on outcome based pedagogy particularly on student activities. The contents of the textbook include four chapters that can be covered in one semester; 1. Introduction to Applied Economics 2. Application of Supply and Demand Analysis 3. Industry and Environmental Analysis: Business Opportunities Identification 4. Socioeconomic Impact Analysis
