"The purpose of this Laboratory Manual on Forensic Chemistry is to enhance and familiarize students taking Criminology and other related fields in the proper procedures and methods of collecting and preserving evidence effectively. It describes the forensic examinations on physical evidences found on the scene of the crime.<br/> <br/> In most cases, the successful investigation and prosecution of crimes require collection and preservation and forensic examinations of physical evidence. Forensic analysis of evidence as often crucial in criminal proceedings.<br/><br/> Through lectures and practical exercises, the course participants/students will learn the proper techniques of locating, recognizing, documenting, collecting and preserving of evidence.<br/><br/> Forensic Chemistry Instructors/professors play an important role in effective imparting the knowledge on Forensic Chemistry to Criminology students and other Law Enforcers. They are task to teach students on how to scientifically solve criminal offense base on physical evidence collected on the crime s<br/><br/> Forensic chemists usually perform their analytical work in a sterile laboratory decreasing the risk of sample contamination. In order to prevent tampering, forensic chemists must keep track of a chain of custody for each sample. A chain of custody is a document that stays with the evidence at all times.
