520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. "Building Resilient Communities is based on the latest global platform, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, and applied to the local contexts of our students. The Sendai Framework is a 15 year, voluntary, nonbinding agreement that recognizes the role of the State and the participation of other stakeholders including the local government, the private sector, and other stakeholders in reducing and managing disaster risks. The framework was endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly following the 2015 Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR).

The textbook seeks to engage various sectors of the society especially children and the youth in disaster risk reduction. It is designed to complement the existing K to 12 curriculum of the Department of Education on Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction." --Lou, Isabel, and Diana.
