The evolution of economic thought / Stanley Brue, Randy Grant. - Eighth edition Philippine edition - xvi, 580 pages ; 23 cm

Includes indexes.

The primary purpose of this book is to tell the story of the history of economics in a clear, scholarly, balanced, and interesting fashion. It is, after all, a story of great importance--one that sharpens our understanding of contemporary economics and provides a unique perspective not found in other fields of the discipline.
This edition contains six new or significantly revised Past as prologue sections. These "boxes" connect earlier ideas, sometimes addressed only briefly, to subsequent or contemporary economic contributions or issues. In some cases the particular link of ideas spans many decades; in other cases it spans only a few years. Sometimes the sections look toward the future; other times they look toward the past. But in all instances they involve original ideas and their impact on subsequent economic theory, issues, or events.

The end-of-chapter Questions for Study and Discussion have been augmented with questions relating to both existing and new content. Also, the Selected Readings section lists have been expanded and updated where appropriate. This edition expands material on the web site that was introduced with the last edition.
