"The book discusses about Ethics and Values. According to the author, Ethics refers to the ideal acts of man. Regardless of the scenario, complications and motivations, ethics refers to the things that a man should do, regardless of results emanating from such an act. The word is lifted from the Greek word "ethos" meaning character. Ethics is also a moral philosophy, it is a branch of philosophy that is focused on systematizing, defending and recommending ideas about what is right and what is wrong.

Nowadays, value refer to person, things or possessions that are considered important.

The word "education" is lifted from the Italian word "educare" which refers to "bring out, lead forth" or conceptually, "to bring someone out of ignorance" or "to bring someone closer to god"

The concept now of bringing the two words together, of the word "values education" connotes an idea of bringing someone out of ignorance, of bringing someone closer to god and of valuing things that are really essential and important in life.

This manuscript will focus on four emerging concepts that are being pushed by the Commission on Higher Education circa 2010: Pagkamaka-Diyos, Pagkamaka-tao, Pagkamaka-Bayan and Pagkamaka-Kalaikasan. (Loosely translated; Pro-God, Pro-Man, Pro-Country and Pro-Nature)."-- Introduction.
