520 | _a"Language is inevitable in communication. To communicate effectively in English language, one has to be knowledgeable on the rules of grammar. It is observed that students find it difficult in expressing themselves using our second langauge. Hence, it is important to enrich/to enhance the students when it comes to using the language. Journalism, being one of the forms of communication, provides variety of contents for rapid acquisition on the four (4) basic macro-skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening which are all relevant in language enrichment/enhancement. Based on the observation of the proponents, there is no existing workbook with emphasis on the teaching of English language based on Journalism topics. It is for this reason that the authors developed in this book. The workbook is not solely a discussion about Campus Journalism rather it is a tool for teaching and learning of the English Language through exploration of Journalism. Using newspapers is advantageous for both the teachers and the students as they can adapt to the four basic macro skills. This can be very useful not only in the discussion of Campus Journalism but can also be utilized in other allied fields of English subjects like Teaching of Reading, Teacher of Listening and Speaking, Creative Writing, Structure of English, and Linguistics. This book is the product of the experience of the authors from handling campus papers. The book is composed of the following parts: 1. Journ-In! is derived from the word Journalism. This serves as pre-activity before the analysis of the topics to be discussed in each module. 2. Journ-Venture is a coined word for Journalism and Adventure. This is the part of the book wherein the users will explore the topics on Journalism." --Publisher's description | ||
